Job Overview:
The Senior Analyst, Accounting Operations serves as a subject matter expert in global accounts payable functions, supporting a large corporate finance environment. This individual contributor role involves applying sound judgment in managing complex Accounts Payable processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant vendor payments.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as an SME for the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process.
Conduct data cleanup in preparation for financial system integration and P2P implementation.
Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) for financial integration and P2P rollout.
Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to develop KPIs, metrics, and reporting dashboards.
Troubleshoot strategic supplier issues alongside AP Specialists and Analysts.
Design and manage an intranet subsite to support communication, SOPs, organizational structure, and rollout updates.
Provide support and training to accounting specialists.
Prepare documentation and respond to weekly, annual, and ad hoc audit requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience in Procure-to-Pay, with a focus on Accounts Payable, accounting, or related areas.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent additional experience).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make informed business recommendations independently.
Proactive, curious, and motivated to learn industry best practices and operational nuances.
Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet business demands.
Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to various stakeholders, including executives.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general fluency in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Demonstrated experience in process improvement and system enhancements related to Accounts Payable or Accounting Operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the airline industry.
Familiarity with GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal control practices.
Experience with PeopleSoft, Tableau, or banking systems.
Prior involvement in system implementations.
Experience in maintaining and enforcing financial or operational policies.
