Description
Job Summary:
Working with New Product Development and Aftermarket teams, identify critical product needs through extensive team interviews and define and develop new supply chain designs for the lowest total cost of ownership. Resolve chronic problems regarding quality and supply with current suppliers and recommend changes to sourcing infrastructure, import/export logistics, supply chain synchronization, multi-sourcing strategy and define global performance measurements. Work closely with Material Planner/Buyers to understand potential commodity fluctuations and define future sourcing strategies.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate strategic sourcing initiatives that consider all business drivers and their impact on operations, customers, and competitors

Define launch plan and ensure supplier readiness for new product introduction and re-sourcing initiatives

Build/establish strategic relationships with key suppliers

Evaluate total supply chain costs to identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership

Assist Director in managing the entire strategic sourcing process, including market assessments, RFP and bid strategy development

Communicate sourcing status and results to Director.

Assist in supplier negotiations and contract development for goods and services

Interface with business unit owners to fully understand supply chain and product needs
Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:
Experience
5-10 years experience in a supply chain related field, strategic sourcing preferred
Education Level
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related fields required, MBA or another quantitative discipline preferred.
Internal/external business consulting experience desired.
Experience in Lean Manufacturing desired.
