Description:
Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist operates CT scanners to produce detailed cross-sectional images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes. They prepare patients by explaining procedures, positioning them correctly, and administering contrast agents as needed. CT Technologists ensure patient safety, monitor for adverse reactions, and maintain imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance. They collaborate with radiologists to evaluate image quality and assist in diagnosing medical conditions.
This role typically requires an associate degree in Radiologic Technology, certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT, and state licensure as required. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential for success in this position.
