$2000 Performance Bonus (before applicable taxes): Drivers in good standing with the company will receive $1,000 after 90 days of employment and another $1,000 after 180 days of employment. Safety, attendance, attitude, and consistent on-time arrivals to work each day are all calculated into the decision of being considered in good standing with the company.

Wurth Baer Supply Company, one of the nation's premier distributors to the woodworking industry, is seeking a reliable and responsible Driver - CDL Class A to support our Columbus, OH facility and product delivery operations.

FULL TIME - DIRECT HIRE (PERMANENT/YEAR-ROUND WORK) - DAY SHIFT

ROLE: CDL-A Driver

TRUCK TYPES: 36-Foot Semi-Truck Curtain Side (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) and a 26-foot Curtain Side Straight Truck (10-SPEED MANUAL TRANMISSION)

DRIVERS RUN 3 ROUTES: SOUTHERN ROUTE - Southern Ohio into Parkersburg, WV - NORTHERN ROUTE - as far north as Mansfield, OH - COLUMBUS ROUTE: All within the 270 ring in the city area.

SCHEDULE: 5:30am-3:00pm (approximately) - Tuesday and Thursday routes are a bit shorter with end times between 1:00pm-2:00pm ET (Northern route is 2x/week and Southern route is 2x/week) - Fridays are all around Columbus, OH (270 ring).

STARTING PAY: $26/HR

HAND UNLOADS: Must be comfortable assisting customers receiving their goods weighing 70 to 100lbs. This will include large sheets of plywood, cabinetry, drawer slides, hinges, hardware, paints, stains, tools, sandpaper, and synthetic countertop materials. You will help load the company truck and transport Wurth Baer Supply products to customers when needed. The cargo consists of cabinets, hardware, wood/laminate, and lacquer/finish. You will use an app via a company-provided cell phone to plan your route. As one of the most often seen representatives of the Company, you will conduct yourself in a positive and friendly manner and provide quality service with each delivery. When needed, you will assist with general warehouse operations (receiving, picking, etc.).

An essential function of this role requires employees to lift and lower packages that may weigh up to 100 pounds. Attention to safety is vital, the use of proper lifting and lowering techniques should be used at all times (adjust your body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, and pivot). You may also need to become accustomed to the fluctuating temperatures in which you will perform your duties. As this position is customer-facing, an excellent customer focus attitude is critical for success.

Qualifications:

A valid Class A

2+ years of experience driving manual transmission 10-speed Tractor Trailer is required

A clean driving record for the past three years in all states where licensed

Pass a medical examination for commercial driver fitness and obtain the required medical card in compliance with 49 CFR 391.43

Pass a pre-employment screening for DOT controlled substances, in compliance with 49 CFR 40 and 49 CFR 382.

Previous warehousing experience preferred
