Job Overview:
The Hospital Risk Specialist is accountable for ensuring the efficient and continuous operation of various patient safety and risk management initiatives. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: overseeing and managing claims, conducting investigations and analyses, performing risk assessments for new services, conducting root cause analyses and tracking action plans, and leading the Patient Safety Council. The Specialist works closely with department heads and the executive leadership team to implement risk mitigation strategies for both the corporation and individual facilities. This position involves data analysis, reporting, education, and leadership while ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution is required. A Masters degree in a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
Experience:
2 to 5 years of experience in Risk Management, with a preference for acute care experience.
A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and relevant hospital software programs.
License/Certification:
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) certification is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
