Position Summary:

The Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) Clinical Educator is responsible for supporting the preparation, education, and transition of new customers onto Cadwell’s ARC EMU solution. This position reports to Cadwell’s Global EEG Specialist within the Sales and Marketing department.

This position is a remote position and requires residence in a major metropolitan area with an international airport.

Key Functions / Responsibilities:

Become Cadwell's clinical user expert for the EMU product portfolio

Develop EMU general and site-specific educational materials

Participate in EMU pre-sales demonstrations and site visits as needed

Work with Sales Team to provide appropriate quotations for EMU related configurations to meet site specific workflow needs

Provide EEG training for sales, installation, app support, and service teams as needed

Establish and execute on a clinical education program that delights EMU clinical teams. At the end of implementation, customers should have:

A facility clinical educator / champion that is trained as a Super User and armed with site specific educational material for his / her own internal use

Clinical team that is knowledgeable and comfortable using Cadwell products

EEG solution that is fully functional

A delighted EMU staff and neurology department

Work with new EMU customers before installation to:

Document current clinical workflow

Define desired workflow and configuration post install

Identify areas of significant change between using current system and Cadwell that need to be managed

Conduct "Train the trainer" education with the facility clinical educator / champion, including hosting a visit to Cadwell headquarters

Conduct on-site (or virtual) basic introductory training for clinical staff - purpose is to introduce Cadwell software, talk about benefits, and start to introduce any upcoming changes in their workflow

Create, in conjunction with facility clinical educator / champion, site specific training materials matching facility workflow

Participate in installation as needed and lead pre-go-live training

Prefer to have facility clinical educator / champion perform training with the Cadwell team in support, however, might need to perform training directly

Goal is to have facility clinical educator / champion fully trained, armed with training materials, capable of supporting local questions from the team, and responsible for on-going training and education of new employees or software updates

Provide go-live support

Be on-site during go-live to support the clinical staff. May be on-site for an extended period of time until the site is stable

Post go-live

Hold weekly calls with clinical team to answer questions and assist with ramp up

Go on-site in 2-3 months following go-live to make any workflow adjustments, provide additional training, answer questions, etc.

Conduct "for fee" clinical education and refresher courses as needed

Product development

Provide input and feedback to the product development team on an ongoing basis

Test new features and provide feedback prior to release

Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Education / Experience:

Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in a Level IV EMU required

R.EEG.T certification required, CLTM certification a plus

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, marketing, or a medical/scientific discipline preferred

Skills / Job Knowledge / Abilities:

Expert level knowledge in LTM and EMU clinical workflows including use of EEG equipment for intracranial cases including setup, recording, stimulation, and surgical review

Expert level knowledge in at least one EEG product line (either Cadwell or competitor) required

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills before small groups to clearly communicate technical information required

Computer literacy is essential

Keen grasp of IT-related networking needs, challenges, and requisite solutions

Working knowledge of Windows OS in a networked environment is preferred

Ability to accurately assess customer needs and provide consultative solutions

Understands how and is able to build long-term relationships with customers

Skilled in problem analysis and resolution

Willingness to “roll up sleeves” and assist in areas outside of core responsibilities

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time

Valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy required

Must reside near a major metropolitan airport

Requires the following physical activities: standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, finger dexterity, talking, hearing, visual acuity, and lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds

This position requires on-site visitation at medical facilities. As such, the candidate must be able to meet credentialing company and medical facility requirements. Those requirements could include mandatory vaccination for COVID-19; further details are available from Cadwell.
