Position Summary

As a Retail Buyer at Soccer Village, you'll play a vital role in influencing product strategy and growth at a well-established specialty retailer. You will be responsible for selecting and managing a compelling product assortment that meets customer needs and aligns with company goals. You'll work closely with vendors, marketing, and store operations to ensure optimal product availability, quality, and pricing, helping us maintain our reputation as the go-to destination for soccer enthusiasts.

Key Responsibilities

Drives sales and margin growth for Soccer Village.

Establishes goals and key strategies with vendors to capitalize on mutually beneficial opportunities.

Develop seasonal buying strategies for our retail stores and e-commerce in alignment with sales goals and trends.

Monitor product performance and adjust inventory levels, markdowns, and reorders accordingly.

Collaborate with store management to gather feedback and align assortment with regional needs.

Conduct competitive analysis and stay up to date on industry trends and customer preferences.

Develops and executes the preseason and in-season buying vision and communicates to organizational partners to help understand and buy-in.

Develops lifecycle strategy (pricing & exit).

Research and understand consumer trends.

Aligns the buying strategy with the brick and mortar buying strategy where appropriate; optimizes web buying opportunities to maximize sales.

Annually defines key vendor partnerships.

Develops a strong understanding of vendor strategies and builds mutually beneficial partnerships.

Manages financial targets and inventory controls to pre-determined levels.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or related field.

Professional experience procuring goods.

10 years planning or buying experience preferred.

Prior retail experience.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and pivot in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills.

Strong analytical ability required

Knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills required
