The Legal Admin performs administrative support duties on the Legal team. This position requires 100% on-site attendance in our Pontiac office.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Tracking cases and other legal matters and ensuring information is updated.

Drafting and sending business correspondence.

Preparing documents and case files for attorneys.

Processing, reviewing and directing legal mail to appropriate individuals.

Communicating information to both internal team members and external parties on legal matters as needed.

Handling confidential company information.

Responding to time-sensitive tasks in an efficient and timely manner.

Assist paralegals in preparing company records for production to discovery requests.

Responsible for handling service of process notifications received on a daily basis, tracking matters and providing to appropriate parties for further handling.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

Legal internship and/or one year of prior experience in a legal support environment, either in a corporate or law firm setting.

An understanding of legal terminology and procedures.

An interest in learning about mortgage lending processes.

Experience with MS Office.

Experience with either Lexis Nexis, Westlaw or other legal software programs.

Excellent organization and communication skills.

The ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.
