Title – Project Developer

General Description of Job

The Project Developer is a naturally curious individual that demonstrates excellent analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills. The position supports the energy asset development process and provides direct support to the Development team helping to progress new projects from customer commitment through close of financing and placing the project into service.

Key Responsibilities

Project Developer Support

Support the project development process and collaborate with Business Developers by performing initial site feasibility studies leveraging publicly available data, researching client background, managing client information gathering, investigating potential project incentives, and supporting client communications

Support the management of the overall project development process by anticipating the needs of the organization and aligning resources to support our ability to timely engage on additional site assessments as more is learned about the property in question

Project Feasibility (site and environmental)

Represent the company externally with local, state, and federal non-ministerial permitting processes

Responsible for creating and managing the risk register for all aspects related to the project.

Primary resource to review the results of third-party site assessments including ESA Phase I’s, title commitments, wetland delineations, survey’s, permitting requirements, etc.

Representing the Company for engagements with external legal resources to provide insight needed for the Company to make decisions about the viability and risks of the site to move forward with additional development activities

Project Transition from Development to Execution and Financing

Collaborate closely with the Project Execution team and ensure a smooth transition into the construction phase of the project by clearly communicating activities completed to date, open items, and all aspects that need to be considered during the execution phase, and ensuring clear communication to the Project Execution team to ensure risks are properly managed during the execution process

Represent the Company and support all project financing efforts related to site due diligence related activities

Support VP of Development

Manage all aspects of the energy as a service pipeline reporting process, for both internal and external purposes. Ensures the integrity of the data in The App and collaborates with the IT team of any changes needed to effectively manage the business.

Support the VP of Development on special projects including customer or channel partner engagements, internal presentations, as well as support for any potential project acquisition opportunities.

Certifications or Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree. Engineering, Finance or similar.

Experience:

3 years of professional work experience focusing on project management, engineering, finance, or similar

Skills and Competencies:

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Commercial acumen and ability to persuade

Technical understanding

Fantastic listening and teaching skills
