Shift: 1st (6:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Thursday, 10 hours)
Prepare and present company’s price proposal on various jobs based on material and subcontractor costs to bring work/jobs to TEAM.
Summary of Major Responsibilities/Duties:
Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares
itemized take off reports.
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes
such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
Inquires suppliers for material and subcontract costs.
Prepares and presents company’s price proposal based on material and
subcontract costs.
Consults with client to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Interfaces with other individuals and dept. within the company to obtain support
and commitment to the cost estimates.
Provides improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce
any future discrepancies between estimating and actual costs.
Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process
improvement efforts.
Conducts work safely and follows all safety procedures. Rejects work that is not
safe and discusses the situation with supervisor.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent two years
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports
and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of calculus and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
