POSITION SUMMARY: The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible forall aspects of the Catholic Charities volunteer program. The coordinator willoversee the recruitment, placement, and orientation of volunteers, whileensuring that their roles are fulfilling and that they feel valued andinvolved. The Volunteer Coordinator is a key liaison between volunteers andstaff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Save Environment: Coordinate the Diocesan Safe Environment Program within Catholic Charities. Ensure all volunteers and staff comply with diocesan safe environment protocols and procedures. Maintain accurate records of volunteer compliance and certifications.

Volunteer Recruitment: Develop and implement strategies to attract new volunteers through various channels, including social media, community events, and partnerships with local organizations. Conduct outreach to schools, churches, and community groups to promote volunteer opportunities. Screen and interview potential volunteers to assess their suitability for various roles.

Volunteer Onboarding: Create and manage comprehensive onboarding processes for new volunteers, including orientation sessions and introductory materials. Ensure new volunteers are matched with appropriate roles based on their skills and interests. Provide ongoing support and guidance to new volunteers during their initial period of service.

Training and Orientation: Develop and present engaging and informative training sessions to equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge. Create training materials, such as manuals, videos, and online resources. Schedule and conduct regular orientation sessions for new volunteers.

Volunteer Experiences: Design and implement unique and meaningful volunteer experiences that align with the organization's mission and goals. Organize special events and activities to create new volunteer experiences. Gather feedback from volunteers to continuously improve their experience. Prepare event recaps to share with stakeholders.

Volunteer Management Software: Oversee the use and training of VolunteerHub, our volunteer management software. Ensure all volunteer data is accurately entered and maintained in the system. Provide technical support and training to volunteers and staff on using the software. Prepare reports on volunteer hours served.

Reward Program: Create and manage a volunteer incentive program to recognize and appreciate volunteer contributions. Develop criteria for awards and recognition, such as Volunteer of the Month. Organize recognition events and ceremonies to celebrate volunteer achievements.

Engagement Opportunities: Develop and manage opportunities to increase volunteer engagement and retention. Organize regular meetings and social events for volunteers to build a sense of community. Implement strategies to keep volunteers motivated and committed to the organization.

OTHER OR SHAREDRESPONSIBILITIES: Assistthe Executive Director as requested.

THIS POSITIONSUPERVISES: Volunteers

QUALIFICATIONS TOPERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY: High school diploma orequivalent, previous experience in volunteer coordination or a similar role,strong organizational and communication skills, ability to learn and becomeproficient in volunteer management software, and empathy, patience, and apassion for community service.

Other Skills Required: Excellent written andverbal communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of ateam, ability to write professionally, and the ability to work in Microsoft 365(Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).

Certificates, Licenses,Registrations: Valid driver's license.

PhysicalDemands/Working Conditions: Ability to drive throughout the diocese for dayand evening meetings and presentations, ability to work a flexible schedule asneeded, ability to work during response to natural disaster.
