Equipment Qualification Engineer – Electrical / I&C 12-Month Onsite Contract Bellevue, WA System One is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Qualification Engineer – Electrical / I&C for a 12-month onsite contract position based in Bellevue, WA.

This role supports the development and implementation of equipment qualification (EQ) programs for advanced nuclear projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.

The engineer will work closely with cross-functional technical teams and support licensing activities and regulatory interactions.

Responsibilities: Assist in developing and executing robust equipment qualification programs in compliance with applicable nuclear standards and regulations.

Collaborate with design teams to ensure new and revised designs meet EQ regulatory requirements.

Prepare, review, and maintain licensing and EQ documentation following strict quality assurance protocols.

Interface with engineering teams, project partners, and external contractors.

Author and review technical documents including test specifications and qualification requirements.

Review and prepare documentation for NRC interactions, including safety analysis report (SAR) inputs and regulatory correspondence.

Conduct and support evaluations related to regulatory and environmental qualification of equipment.

Key Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). At least 5 years of experience in developing and implementing equipment qualification programs.

Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE-323, IEEE-344, and IEEE 420 7-4.3.2.

Knowledge of NEI 18-04, Regulatory Guide 1.233, and other relevant regulatory guidance documents.

Experience with vendor test facilities and environmental qualification practices.

Strong understanding of quality assurance principles and regulatory compliance.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Professional.

Excellent communication skills and ability to manage tasks independently.

Prior interaction with the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is a plus.

Strong problem-solving abilities and detail-oriented approach.

Project management experience preferred.

Work Requirements: Onsite position located in Bellevue, WA; standard full-time schedule expected.

Extended periods of sitting or standing and computer work.

May involve lifting of up to 25 lbs.
