Our client, operates in the power management industry is seeking a CNC Programmer to join their team.

Job Title: CNC Programmer

Location: Syracuse, NY

Summary of the Position: This position is responsible for developing CNC programs, work holding fixtures, and tool layouts to support the transition from manual operations to CNC automation, specifically using Okuma horizontal milling machines in a factory setting. The role will play a key part in implementing new equipment and enhancing machining efficiency through automation.

Key Responsibilities:

Create CNC programs and develop work holding fixtures for the successful launch of new machining equipment.

Identify, order, and manage new tooling needs. Design jigs, fixtures, and tools to improve or support production processes.

Supervise and validate the rollout of new CNC programs, coordinating with engineering, quality, and production teams.

Partner with manufacturing engineers to troubleshoot and resolve machining and operational challenges.

Identify and address quality issues during the product conversion process. Implement corrective actions and error-proofing measures.

Provide hands-on training to CNC operators on new machining technologies and processes.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in CNC programming and fixture development.

Minimum 4 years supporting a manufacturing environment.

Proficient in SolidWorks, Mastercam, AutoCAD, and G-code.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or certificate in CNC machining or a related technical field.

7+ years of CNC programming and fixture development experience.

5+ years of experience in manufacturing support roles.

Experience programming Okuma horizontal machining centers.

Prior union environment experience.

Advanced skills in SolidWorks, Mastercam, AutoCAD, and G-code.
