Job Summary: Traveling Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse for our Amherst, Rochester and Jamestown offices.At SDG, our Licensed Practical Nurses help prepare rooms for patients, organize the products/supplies, and assist in different procedures. Previous healthcare experience is required.
NYS pathology lab and Mohs clinic providers and staff positions are mandated W-2 employment status positions as required by applicable laws and regulations.
Schedule: Full time, 30+ hours. Availability a minimum of three days per week between Monday-Friday during business hours of 7am-7pm. Open Flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.
Mohs Licensed Practical Nurse
Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s)
Assist the physician in Mohs surgery, medical, cosmetic, allergy, and/or laser procedures. Preps surgical/exam rooms for all procedures and properly cleans exam rooms after every visit.
Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines
Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability
Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order
Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed
Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications by a licensed registered nurse.
Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards and protocol.
Assists with suturing patients after the surgery, including but not limited to helping to control bleeding and providing wound exposure. Daily scan all retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies and alert Head MA and/or GM of any low level supplies
Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested
Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities
Qualifications
Traveling between our Amherst, Rochester and Jamestown offices is required
Practical Nursing Certificate
Healthcare experience required
Dermatology experience preferred
Surgical experience preferred
Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems
Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Excellent patient relation and customer services skills
Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends
Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance
