Location: Mount Pleasant, WI
Hourly Rate: $25 - $35/hour
Per Diem: $125/day (Non-Local)
Expected Hours: 40 hours/week, 1st Shift (Monday-Friday)
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Project Scope:
Support a major plant expansion project by assisting the on-site Safety Team with daily operations including documentation, inspections, compliance tracking, and reporting. This internship is designed to bridge academic knowledge with practical jobsite experience. High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time safety role upon completion.
Qualifications:
College senior enrolled in a 4-year safety-related degree program, or a recent graduate
Passion for workplace safety and eagerness to grow in the field
Basic understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety concepts
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) preferred
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Your Day-to-Day:
Documentation & Compliance Support
Maintain and organize safety records, inspection reports, and training documentation
Assist with updating incident and near-miss tracking databases
Help ensure records meet OSHA and internal compliance standards
️ Field Observations & Site Walks
Participate in daily safety walks and jobsite audits with Safety Managers
Assist in identifying and documenting safety hazards
Learn and support enforcement of jobsite safety protocols
Training & Orientation Assistance
Prepare safety orientation materials for new hires
Sit in on toolbox talks and safety briefings to observe best practices
Track training participation and verify certification completion
Reporting & Analysis
Compile daily safety summaries and reports
Assist with trend analysis and visual data reporting for safety metrics
Contribute safety observations and notes during meetings
Team Collaboration & Learning
Shadow experienced Safety Managers and Coordinators
Apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings
Support ongoing safety initiatives and special projects as assigned
