Mechanical Designer

System One is seeking a Mechanical Designer for a direct hire opportunity in Coraopolis, PA.

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design/Drafter to join our engineering team in Coraopolis, PA.

This position is responsible for producing detailed design drawings and technical documentation for mechanical and electrical equipment, including foundations, structural steel, refractories, piping, and ductwork systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor, and be comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities: • Develop detailed design drawings based on engineering sketches, technical specifications, and layout requirements.

• Create 3D models and detail drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

• Prepare bills of materials (BOMs) and perform dimensional checks on all drawings.

• Generate as-built drawings at project completion.

• Collaborate closely with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of design elements.

• Identify and resolve design interferences and constructability issues.

• Assist job leaders in project planning and support other team members during project execution.

• Maintain high quality and accuracy in all work while meeting project deadlines and budgets.

Qualifications: • Associate degree in Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field (Mechanical design background preferred). • 3–5 years of relevant drafting/design experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor required.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural drafting disciplines.

• General understanding of fabrication, procurement, and construction/field installation practices.

• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional design teams.

Salary range offered is between $70k - $75k.
