Primary Talent Partners has a 12-month contract opening for a Scientist – Container Closure Integrity (CCI) to join a company for an onsite position operating out of Rahway, NJ.

Pay: $31–$36/hr Contract: 12 months, extensions likely, conversion possible Type: W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship Location: Rahway, NJ Job Description: Our client’s Device Product & Process Development (DPPD) Team focuses on the design, development, and commercialization of biologic/drug/vaccine-device combination products for safe and effective delivery to their intended sites of action.

The team oversees development of the device component within the combination product pipeline, including therapeutic areas involving inhalation, implantation, and injection.

The DPPD team within Research Labs is seeking a talented, self-motivated, and collaborative Scientist with experience in container closure integrity (CCI) technologies.

The ideal candidate will contribute to test method development, feasibility testing, and method validation across various product formats such as vials, syringes, cartridges, and injectors.

Responsibilities: Develop, validate, and execute feasibility CCI studies for complex combination devices and delivery systems Author technical reports, protocols, and testing documentation Review technical data for compliance with cGMP standards Collaborate with cross-functional teams for the tech transfer of analytical methods to QC labs Support development across small molecule, biologic, and vaccine combination products Education: B.S./M.S.

in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field, with 0–1 years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industries.

Skills/Experience Required: Experience in analytical method development, validation, and QC for container closure integrity Knowledge of CCI testing techniques for various product types including small molecules, biologics, and vaccines Ability to troubleshoot assays and author/review technical documentation Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Nice to Haves: Experience working in a cGMP lab environment, particularly with large molecule therapeutics Hands-on experience with CCI technologies such as dye ingress, high voltage leak detection, vacuum/pressure decay, and laser headspace analysis Familiarity with physical testing equipment (e.g., Instron, Zwick, Texture Analyzer), rheology (TA Instruments), and metrology/non-destructive inspection (XRCT, optical microscopy, high-speed imaging) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to assess and communicate technical risks effectively Primary Talent Partners is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
