Petmate headquarters are in Arlington, Texas, in the heart of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. Come be a part of our team.
The internship program will be a paid, 10-week program beginning June 2025. Our interns can expect to work 40 hrs./wk. during the 10-week period.
SCOPE
Our summer program allows students to gain exposure and understanding of various careers in the manufacturing and distribution industry. Interns in this program will gain exposure to the following areas:
Injection Molding
Process Technician job shadowing
Develop and create support documentation for IMM presses
Develop trouble shooting skills for IMM press and track scrap
Blow Molding
Learn 2-stage blow molding and extrusion blow molding
Develop and create process log documentation
Develop a live Pareto chart to document quality/scrap issues
Gain experience with Aoki molding machine, help with runoff and gathering data collection
Engineering
Work with engineering to understand parts and develop tools for robots
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate for this program will be an undergraduate in good standing at a senior level enrolled in a Plastics Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering program.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
Knowledge of process engineer role and responsibilities
Experience with MS Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong presentation skills
Exhibits strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
Demonstrates a positive attitude toward self and others
Interact effectively with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization
Able to type data and use a PC for extended periods of time
