Controller PRI is a tenured Executive Recruiting firm in search of a Controller for a client in the Ogden, UT area.

The Controller is required to have solid accounting, communication, technology, analytical, and management skills.

Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of GAAP, as well as financial statement preparation.

If you are qualified and interested, please e-mail an attached Word formatted resume to . Typical Controller Duties: Oversee the organization’s daily accounting functions and ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

Report directly to the President & CEO.

Supervise daily accounting office operations, administrative tasks, supplies procurement, and payroll processing.

Hire, train and retain accounting staff.

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of financial and administrative professionals.

Provide training guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure team effectiveness.

Foster a productive and positive work environment, addressing employee needs and concerns.

Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial compliance.

Support HR functions, such as employee onboarding, benefits administration, and payroll coordination.

Manage the accounting staff.

Oversee 2 Staff Accountants, 1 AP, 1 AR, payroll, and general ledger activities.

Review and approve financial transactions for accuracy and adherence to policies.

Provide expertise on complex accounting issues and ensure timely recording of transactions.

Knowledge and Skills: Candidates should have at least seven years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

The experience should include a variety of industries with one being wholesale or distribution operations.

CPA certification desired.

Requirements Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics GP Proven working experience as a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Payroll Manager, Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager Advanced computer skills on MS Office (emphasis on Excel), accounting software and databases Ability to manipulate large amounts of data Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations High attention to detail and accuracy Deadline driven, and a focus on timeliness Ability to direct and supervise BS Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

MACc or MBA desired.

CPA or CMA helpful.
