WiFi Lab Engineer 1 Location: Philadelphia, PA Summary Our Technology & Product organization works at the intersection of media and technology.

The team also supports evolving network architecture, including next-generation consumer systems, infrastructure, engineering, and technical standards.

We are seeking a Wi-Fi Lab Engineer 1 to join our Global Test House Team.

This team works closely with development partners to conduct quality testing on Wi-Fi products, ensuring a world-class customer experience.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated technical professional who will support Wi-Fi labs, maintain testbeds, troubleshoot issues, and ensure lab networks remain stable and dependable.

This role involves testbed setup, maintenance, software updates, inventory management, and collaboration with engineers and vendors.

Core Responsibilities Provide independent support for lab issues and maintenance, escalating to management when necessary.

Collaborate with test engineers and vendors to resolve technical issues.

Prepare and configure hardware, including laptops (OS installation, dual boot setup, Wi-Fi module replacement, etc.). Maintain testbeds, perform upgrades, and assist test engineers with troubleshooting.

Set up and configure devices, including software upgrades/downgrades.

Manage network upgrades and maintenance (Ethernet, DOCSIS). Handle shipping logistics, inventory tracking, and purchasing support.

Maintain accurate lab logs and update internal documentation.

Perform wiring, cabling, and labeling tasks.

Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide detailed reports.

Experience & Technical Skills Required: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or related technical field.

Strong understanding of 802.11 standards, IP, DHCP, VLAN, IoT (Zigbee, Bluetooth, Thread), and networking.

3–4 years of experience in networking and wireless technologies.

Troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.

Proficiency with packet capture tools (Wireshark, Omnipeek). Experience with log extraction and debugging (Android/iOS). Hands-on experience with RF concepts (splitters, attenuators, antennas, amplifiers, connectors). Ability to work with vendors and technology partners for issue resolution.

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, or variable schedules as needed.
