In this position…

You will drive on-track performance and success for Ford Performance teams in the NASCAR Truck and Xfinity series. Define and execute the strategic vision by conducting rigorous data analysis and navigating the competitive landscape with a thorough understanding of series regulations and constraints.

This is a hybrid role and requires 3 days per week in the office in Concord, NC.

Responsibilities

What you'll do…

Establish relationships with Ford Truck and Xfinity series teams such that they can rely on you to utilize Ford resources to create performance opportunities and resolve issues.

Establish relationships with NASCAR officials and POCs to effectively communicate Ford's and its race team's perspective on competition, rules, and process.

Create performance opportunities for Truck and Xfinity teams through collaboration between all Ford teams in terms of simulation, aerodynamics, and data analytics.

Support the Ford Performance Analytics team to develop tools, processes, and metrics that create and define performance and competition opportunities.

Establish yourself as a power user and effective demonstrator of Ford Performance Analytics tools, processes and metrics such that other users can rely on you to support issue resolution and development opportunities.

Establish an effective understanding of Ford Performance operating principles and methods such that you can efficiently find competition opportunities and resolve issues.

Support Ford Performance live competition processes and methods to support Ford race teams on track success.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Qualifications

You'll have…

Bachelors of Science in Engineering (such as BSME).

3+ years of work experience in an automotive related engineering capacity.

2+ years of theoretical or applied vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, or powertrain theory.

Held an engineering role in a professional racing series.

Significant weekend travel.

Even better, you may have…

5+ years of work experience in professional racing.

Masters Degree in Engineering.

2+ years NASCAR experience in Sprint Cup, Xfinity Series, Truck Series.

Ability to coordinate projects across multiple teams and race series.

Experience with racecar simulation software packages.

Highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to working hours.

SAE competition (BAJA / Formula SAE / Etc.), suspension/steering/tire design experience, vehicle dynamics development experience.

Experience with Motec, Pi and/or Atlas data acquisition tools.
