Job Description
This dynamic role combines the critical functions of estimating project costs and effectively selling professional fencing and construction services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the company's growth by accurately assessing project feasibility, developing compelling proposals, and building strong client relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Estimating:
Conduct thorough project analysis, reviewing plans, specifications, and blueprints to accurately determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
Develop comprehensive cost models, including detailed breakdowns of direct and indirect costs, potential risks, and contingency plans.
Leverage estimating software and tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid) to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate closely with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accurate cost projections.
Conduct site visits to assess project conditions, identify potential challenges, and gather critical information for accurate estimating.
Sales:
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with potential clients, including contractors, developers, and property owners.
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, marketing campaigns, and client outreach.
Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals that effectively communicate project value and address client needs.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
Represent the company at industry events and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
Project Support:
Provide ongoing cost analysis and tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in resolving cost-related issues and managing change orders effectively.
Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential cost overruns.
Other Duties:
Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all estimating and sales activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years of experience in construction estimating and/or sales.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong understanding of construction contracts and legal documents
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented and organized
Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines
