Our client, a growing regional supplier of chemicals and supplies to the Safety & Welding industry, is seeking an experienced Safety and Welding Supplies sales rep to oversee their growth in the Eastern Atlanta area.

The Safety and Welding Supplies Sales Representative helps manage existing and grow new sales in the Eastern Atlanta area by working with the local branch office by creating and maintaining strong customer relationships. A successful sales representative will work within the area area to create such relationships at Metal Fab and Industrial Manufacturing facilities and more by actively listening and using technical knowledge and experience to analyze customers’ needs and desires and provide the best product and service solutions.
Responsibilities and Duties
Identify prospective customers using numerous sources, including online research, cold-calling, obtaining leads from existing clients, participating in organizations, and attending trade shows and conferences.
Work with branch sales representatives to gain and maintain business and provide technical expertise when needed.
Acquire and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the services and related products and services that company offers.
Understanding how the company products are best used and optimize those products and services.
Have a complete understanding of the company products to include support equipment such as regulators, valves, safety equipment and gas detector.
Must be able to answer customer questions in regards to the company product offering, all the while earning “trusted expert” status.
Negotiate and quote prices.
Maintain customer records.
Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and credit terms.
Compute customer’s installation or production costs and estimate savings from new products and services.
Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications, with and without partner vendors.
Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, and other information pertaining to purchased products.
Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information.
Distribute resources, such as samples and promotional and educational materials.
Promote and sell service contracts for technical products.
Demonstrate the operation or use of technical products.
Consult with vendors and other salespersons regarding resolving customers’ technical problems with products.
Handle customer complaints and help quickly resolve issues.
Willing to travel throughout the region every day.
Qualifications
Must have sales experience, preferably in the metal fabrication, safety supplies or industrial manufacturing industry.
A minimum of 3 years experience, selling welding and safety supplies into industrial settings
Possess a 4-year college or university degree in a relevant major
Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time, reach and bend at the waist, lift and carry up to 75 lbs, and drive a vehicle or have someone who can drive you around a good part of the day.
Strong computer skills focused on Microsoft Office programs like Outlook, Excel, and Word.
