Prep Cook

Job Summary: The prep cook will support the kitchen chef by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and chop vegetables and ingredients for salads, toppings, sauces, sides, and fish.

Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.

Prep cook is responsible for breading/frying fish, as well as assembling sandwiches/burgers/tacos and adding finishing touches before they leave the kitchen.

Prepare orders for the restaurant and to go as they come in.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including utensils, cooking equipment, and food storage areas.

Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the manager.

Must obtain food handler’s card and follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe cooking environment.

Support chef during service by ensuring plates/serve ware are ready for orders as they come in, and everything you’ll need to assemble dishes is prepped and ready to be used.

Clean and sanitize work areas, cutting boards, and kitchen equipment after use.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a kitchen setting is preferred but not required.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.

Pay: Dependent on experience. Starting pay is $20-$22/hr.
