Job Description
Purpose Assists the chef in preparing the food, maintains the cooking environment clean and safe for all staff members and takes on culinary tasks as they arise. The job requires physical endurance as well as mental determination and involves working in stress conditions for most of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Measures ingredients and prepares them in accordance to recipe book
Responsible for setting up and working a station
Checking station for proper Mise en place
Being ready for service on time
Doing the necessary prep to be prepare for service
Cuts and portions different types of meat according to specifications
Prepares different types of food from the menu, following carefully the recipes
Makes stock soups to be used during cooking process
Keeps track of ingredient quantities and ensures there are always enough for the day/week
Stores ingredients in dedicated containers, making sure that they are best preserved
Inform the chef when the ingredients stock is getting low or when the kitchen tools do not work properly
Cleans and sanitizes the working surfaces, tools, utensils and working area
Carefully supervises the food temperature and the temperature from cooling, to ensure that the ingredients kept are kept at the appropriate temperature
Other tasks as assigned

Open Availability - Working weekends and holidays is a must
Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience
High School Diploma
1 to 2 years of Kitchen experience
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift 30 pounds to 50 pounds
Ability to work weekends and holidays
Working Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
