Job Title: Analytics Consultant – SAS Developer

About the Assignment:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Analytics Consultant – SAS Developer to join our analytics team within a leading financial institution. This contingent role plays a critical part in driving data initiatives that support risk management, compliance, and strategic planning. You’ll work hands-on with complex banking data and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver high-impact insights and solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Consult on complex initiatives with broad business impact and large-scale analytics planning.
Review and analyze multi-faceted, long-term analytics challenges involving unique or unprecedented variables.
Perform hands-on development and optimization of SAS code to support data transformation, reporting, and compliance needs.
Conduct unit testing and code review to ensure accuracy, performance, and maintainability.
Strategically collaborate with internal stakeholders, including risk, compliance, and business teams, to meet critical deliverables.
Maintain documentation, follow development standards, and ensure regulatory requirements are addressed.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following:
Professional work or consulting experience
SAS Development skills (Base SAS, SAS Macros, SAS/SQL) — required
2+ years of unit testing and code review experience in SAS
Strong SAS/SQL coding skills for data manipulation, reporting, and analysis
Experience working with large datasets in a regulated or enterprise environment
Solid understanding of banking operations, data integrity, governance, and compliance considerations
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with regulatory analytics (e.g., CCAR, CECL, Basel) or risk/compliance reporting
Exposure to additional tools or languages such as Python, R, or SQL Server
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance)
