Job Description
Are you the kind of engineer who doesn’t just write code or design systems—but owns them from concept to install, debug, and beyond? GEE Group is hiring a Controls Engineer for a manufacturer that values precision, hands-on collaboration, and real-time problem solving.
This isn't a back-office role. You’ll be deep in machines, side-by-side with Maintenance and Production, working directly with the entire Engineering team. From robotic presses to PLCs, this is where design meets the factory floor—and that’s exactly where you thrive.
What You’ll Do:
· Design and draft electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems for robots, molding presses, and more.
· Program PLCs with clean, reliable logic, timing, and control.
· Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, and Engineering to bring machines to life and keep them running.
· Lead continuous improvement projects—optimize what exists, invent what doesn’t.
· Create and maintain setup procedures, equipment drawings, and plant layouts.
· Coordinate tooling PMs and work orders.
· Assist with equipment moves and installations on the manufacturing floor.
· Ensure company culture and safety standards aren’t just talked about—they’re followed.
What You Bring:
· Associate’s degree in Engineering, Controls, or related field.
· 5+ years in advanced maintenance or controls work.
· Strong skills in electrical systems, hydraulics, welding, and AutoCAD.
· PLC programming experience is a must.
· A mindset that’s hands-on, solution-focused, and never waits to be told what’s next.
