Shipping Supervisor

Job Description

SVS Group is currently looking to hire a Shipping Supervisor for one of our best Aerospace Clients here in Phoenix, AZ. You will have typical Shipping Supervisor job duties to include:

Supervise and coordinate work activities of Shipping Clerks.

Review and process shipping order to determine parts and quantities to be shipped, ensuring accuracy in all shipping documents (e.g., packing lists, ASN, BOL)

Oversee the packaging and labeling of products, ensuring that they comply with customer requirements and shipping standards.

Manager logistics by scheduling in-house driver and coordinating with external contractors for LTL and FTL shipments.

Interfaces and communicates with other departments in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.

Interviewing, hiring, and training new employees.

Assign tasks to workers and specify methods of coordinating workflow to meet shipping schedules.

Perform job performance evaluations and corrective action of workers.

Performs analysis in determination of root causes for problems and defects and implements corrective actions.

Participates in the determination of direction and philosophy for the company.

Manage time cards and time off request (PTO) in company HRIS system.

Make sure all employees are working safely and accurately.

Accurate and timely reporting of any and all safety incidents within a 24 hour period.

Requirements:

You must have at least 2 + years of recent Shipping Supervisor Experience

Minimum five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred).

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associate’s degree is preferred.

Experience in a fast paced, high unit shipping environment.

Strong knowledge of shipping systems and logistics (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL).

Ability to cycle count and has inventory experience.

Ability to identify the problems and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assess each using standard procedures, and make sound decisions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Fiver + years of Forklift experience.

You must be able to lift 50lbs.

Computer software skills in ERP systems MS Office programs and general data entry.

Has a sense of urgency with a “hands-on” attitude.

You must want to work 1st Shift - Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm plus overtime as needed.Company Description
