Job Title: Refrigeration Technician

Job Description

The Production Equipment/Refrigeration Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Maintenance Supervisor by diagnosing, repairing, operating, modifying, and installing complex industrial equipment. This position ensures that both equipment and facility systems are functioning optimally to meet production demands. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage multiple tasks and work well independently as well as part of a team. The role includes rotating on-call weekend coverage approximately every 4–5 weeks.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment, including filling machines, labelers, cappers, and more.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Generate and complete work orders related to equipment maintenance and repairs.

Maintain facility infrastructure, including roofs, doors, flooring, and steam, air, and water lines.

Operate and maintain water system equipment, including carbon filters, water softeners, RO units, and distillation units.

Manage central plant systems such as boilers, chillers, circulation pumps, and HVAC units.

Operate refrigeration systems including walk-in freezers, chest freezers, and air conditioning units.

Monitor and control building systems via the Trane Tracer Synchrony automation system.

Perform daily inspections of refrigeration equipment and systems.

Install and modify equipment, including the installation of new equipment and removal of obsolete equipment.

Order parts, supplies, and services for projects.Essential Skills

Minimum of 3 years industrial mechanic experience.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate level).

Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.

Basic understanding of tools and their operation.

Demonstrates consistent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Associate degree or technical diploma in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or industrial maintenance preferred.

Must currently possess or be able to obtain a Universal Refrigeration certification within the first 12 months of employment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This role operates on a 1st Shift schedule from 6am-2:30pm, Monday through Friday, with rotating on-call weekend coverage approximately every 4–5 weeks. The work environment is a clean facility manufacturing animal pharmaceuticals, and the team size is approximately 4-5. Uniforms are provided as part of the dress code.

The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $74880.00/yr.
