Job Title: Level III Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Level III Machinist to join our dynamic team. This role involves working in a vast machine shop, responsible for metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring parts according to specifications. The successful candidate will stage parts, load machines with raw materials, operate CNC machines, and assist with various machine shop duties to ensure efficient production.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machines and transport materials around the facility.

Operate wash tanks and forklifts to move materials efficiently.

Troubleshoot and solve everyday operational problems.

Perform quality inspections of parts to ensure they meet specifications.

Maintain a flexible approach, floating between different machines as needed.

Adhere to quality and process standards to ensure consistent product quality.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, fulfilling daily housekeeping responsibilities.Essential Skills

1+ year experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience operating machines in a manufacturing setting, preferably CNC.

Proficiency with quality measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and dial bores.

Experience operating a sit-down forklift.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Experience performing quality inspections on finished parts.

Deburring experience is preferred.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The facility operates in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment, divided into an assembly side and a machine shop. With a relaxed dress code allowing sweatshirts, t-shirts, and hats, safety remains a top priority, ensuring a clean and debris-free workspace. Employees must wear steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses provided by the company. Shifts are available across various times, with opportunities for overtime. Compliance with safety policies, including limited cell phone use and no headphones, is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
