Job Title: Machine Helper/Material Handler

Job Description

Join our team as a Machine Helper/Material Handler where you will begin your journey with comprehensive training. Initially, you will shadow experienced trainers during the day shift, engaging in general clean-up and learning crucial skills such as color coding for steel inventory, warehouse placement, and crane operation. Your role will evolve to include assisting burn table operators with machine safety, product handling, parts cleaning, and machine maintenance. This position requires a willingness to work both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to the elements as you manage crane operations and perform housekeeping tasks around heavy industrial cutting equipment.

Responsibilities

Train shadowing trainers to learn general clean-up and color coding for steel inventory.

Assist burn table operators with product handling, parts cleaning, and machine maintenance.

Operate indoor and outdoor cranes, performing housekeeping tasks around industrial cutting equipment.

Sanding and grinding steel edges, cleaning machinery of metal shavings.

Potential to train for burn table operation, increasing cross-training opportunities and promotion prospects.

Learn and retain inventory information based on color coding system.

Perform physical tasks such as reaching, stooping, squatting, and jumping onto trailers for steel rigging.Essential Skills

Heavy industrial or construction experience.

Ability to read and verify measurements using a tape measure.

Experience operating equipment safely and effectively.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
