Admissions Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Admissions Coordinator will provide external and internal support throughout the Admissions Department. The successful candidate for the admissions coordinator position must have 3-5 years previous professional experience. The ideal candidate for this position must demonstrate the ability to provide excellent service to students and internal employees, proficient use of computer skills, initiative, and a good understanding of education sales and college admissions. The admission coordinator is expected to maintain a professional demeanor, and a high level of confidentiality in all matters of the job. Position requires flexible hours and occasional weekend hours to provide support the admission department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the admissions processes which includes entering and updating student information, processing all application materials (SATs, transcripts, etc.), and running daily processes to update the application status of students.

Collaborate with the International Student Advisor in acquiring required documentation from accepted international students prior to the issuance of an I-20.

Provide the Director of Admissions with regular updates on current statistics of students from application to enrollment.

Communicate regularly via phone and email with recently accepted applicants to improve our enrollment yield and with wait listed applicants to ensure their interest remains.

Follow up with accepted students to ensure that their admissions files are complete prior to enrollment (e.g. final transcripts, required test scores, etc.).

Provide support to the Director of Admissions for the all department events (Open House, New Student Orientation, Admissions Committee Review Meetings, etc.).

Use technology to ensure data integrity and efficiency utilizing the schools database to manage admissions operations.

Ensure consistent enforcement of admissions policies and procedures.

Assist with various admissions tasks as directed by the Director of Admissions and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of one year of experience in an Admissions Office.

Excellent verbal communication skills to clearly convey information in person and over the phone.

Skill in writing clear, concise, grammatically and factually correct correspondence, memos and e-mails.

Ability to maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with others to achieve common goals is a must.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in an extremely fast paced environment.

Attention to detail and strong organization skills.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Strong and very accurate data entry skills are needed.

Basic knowledge of immigration-related laws, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of State regulations and procedures pertaining to F-1 and J-1 students -preferred.
