Title: Embroidery Machine Operator

Position Overview
We are expanding our store teams! Tuckernuck is searching for a reliable embroidery machine operator to join our team at the Madison Avenue store location. The embroiderer's responsibilities include setting up the embroidery machine, ability to embroider numerous types of products within our Home, Apparel, and Accessories verticals, and ensuring that all projects are completed to the client's specifications. A keen eye for detail and precision is a must!
Core Responsibilities
Machine operations: ability to set up and operate the embroidery machine with a variety of styles and fabrics. This includes, hooping and/or framing the garment or accessory, setting up threads, bobbins, basic cleaning and maintenance of the machine, and selecting the appropriate backing/stabilizer based on the type of fabric being embroidered.
Quality control:
trimming excess threads, taking stabilizer off of the item once completed, and making sure the item looks in excellent condition before the customer receives it.
Embroidery designs: ability to create DST files and produce desired embroidery outcomes- this includes knowledge about reducing density and resizing designs to ensure the embroidery stitches out well.
Supplies and Maintenance: keeping track of embroidery supplies and communicating what needs to be reordered when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience using an embroidery machine for 2+ years.
Embroidery knowledge as it relates to necessary supplies needed based on the garment being stitched- e.g. stabilizer, thread, hooping, needle size, etc.
Experience creating embroidery files (DST) and feel comfortable quickly creating files and stitching “on demand” (for example, monogramming a bag while the customer shops, in-store events, and easily completing rush orders).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Basic machine troubleshooting knowledge. Ability to fix small machine issues such as needle breaks, removing thread caught in the machine plates, and adjusting the thread tension.
Highly knowledgeable about personalization and monogramming (for example, the order of initials in any given monogram and general formatting rules).
Very detail-oriented and precise as it relates to the finished product.
Previous experience in retail business.
Great customer service and communication skills.
