Janitorial Team Member

Excel Cleaning is seeking a professional commercial janitorial crew member to perform a variety cleaning and maintenance duties at various City of San Luis Obispo Public Safety Offices. The hired applicant will be in charge of maintaining all public and private spaces to client standards. The right person is punctual, thorough and quick-paced, and eager to learn.

Pay starting at $17.00/Hour or higher based on experience and interview process. Job is set between 20-25 hours/week with room for more weekly hours based on performance after hiring.

Background checks for this job take 2-3 weeks through SLOPD. You will be responsible to get yourself to and from the PD for any meetings or fingerprinting needed before the background check is completed.

Proposed schedule for this position is M-F and can be started as early as 4PM.

Janitor/Custodian Duties and Responsibilities:

Dusting and cleaning surface areas, and counter surfaces.

Performs sweeping and mopping.

Using vacuuming equipment.

Disposing of trash from bins and containers.

Polishing furniture and room accessories as needed.

Scrubbing sinks, basins, and toilets in private and public bathrooms.

Cleaning windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.

Maintaining and upkeep of all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products.

Ensuring safe and sanitary storage and care of products.

Keeping all public spaces neat and tidy.

Reporting repairs and replacements needed when encountered on job.

Janitor/Custodian Requirements and Qualifications:

Able to hold and secure keys to buildings and utilize alarm codes when needed.

Ability to follow verbal directions.

Ability to work well alone.

Reliable and punctual with a dedicated professionalism to job and duties.

Pays attention to detail when cleaning.

Organized and able to follow a schedule.

Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with ability to stand for long lengths of time; physically able to push vacuum cleaner for extended periods of time; ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted.

General knowledge of cleaning products, supplies, and techniques for cleaning.

Schedule:

Work is to be completed on weekdays, Monday through Friday.

Start time is flexible. Work needs to be completed after 4PM and before 12AM.

National holidays observed.

Must Haves:

FULL Background Check provided by the City of San Luis Obispo

Valid drivers license.

Reliable personal transportation.
