GRANT FUNDED – LIMITED TERM POSITION (THROUGH JUNE 30, 2026)
SHIFT: Day/evening/weekend hours Flexible based upon the needs of the College
LOCATION: Lakeshore College – Cleveland, Wisconsin
POSITION SUMMARY: Oversee the operation of the HVAC labs. Promote a learning atmosphere in the labs and provide student reinforcement training and individual tutoring by assisting students in their lab coursework. Perform basic set-up, troubleshooting, repair, and service of machinery. Assist in educating the community about the industry and Lakeshore’s programs. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):
(45%) Classroom/Lab Operations
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly lab environment; repair, service, redesign, and modify machinery and equipment to accommodate the needs of all students and the evolving program.
Monitor and perform basic servicing on all machinery; order necessary tooling supplies, machine repair parts, and act as the primary contact for purchasing new equipment.
Basic set-up of new machinery by coordinating delivery, setup, electrical and plumbing services, and initial start-up; organize all the related training, operating, and maintenance documents.
Assist instructors with budgeting and by suggesting materials and equipment for requisition, ensuring necessary resources are available for effective teaching and learning. \
Troubleshoot and evaluate machine breakdowns to determine the best service personnel and coordinate their efforts to ensure timely repairs and minimal disruption to student learning.
(45%) Instructional Assistance
Provide individualized tutoring and reinforcement training on various HVAC installation, troubleshooting, and start-up techniques.
Promote effective work habits and a learning atmosphere by coaching students, correcting assignments, and serving as a resource person to help them master HVAC processes.
Support instruction in the online environment by creating, posting, editing and managing curriculum files and other learning materials and working with various online software applications.
Research current and future trends to assist in developing forward-thinking, technology-driven and curriculum that prepares students for the evolving job market.
Provide feedback on study guides, learning projects, and simulated activities, and assist instructors with student projects, materials, and machine assignments.
(10%) Recruitment/Community Service
Provide education and training in the lab to the college and district community.
Coordinate with vendors, other technical colleges, college recruitment team, and advisors to conduct tours of instructional labs.
Assist in establishing dual credit activities with district high schools, including meeting with teachers and visiting their labs and classrooms.
Conduct and coordinate hands-on activities for events to market manufacturing programs.
Establish relationships with district employers to identify student employment opportunities and assist Workforce Solutions in identifying training opportunities.
Provide information to visitors and guests, attend workshops/seminars and advisory committee meetings, and support community service requests.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Technical diploma from a regionally accredited college or university in a related discipline required. Associate’s degree preferred.
Minimum of two years of relevant occupational experience required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
Valid state of Wisconsin driver's license.
MVR CHECK Required – The employee in this position is a potential operator of a Lakeshore College owned vehicle or may be responsible for driving any other motor vehicles on behalf of the College.
