Job Overview:
The Estimator will be responsible for preparting accurate cost estimates for contrruction projects in the field. This role involves collaborating with project teams to ensure that all estimates reflect the true scope of work, materials, and labor requirements.
What will you do:
Cost Estimation
Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Conduct quantity take-offs and assess material and labor requirements for projects.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to clarify project details and ensure accurate estimates
Bid Preparation
Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals, ensuring clarity and completeness.
Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet project specifications.
Review and analyze bid comparisons, making recommendations for subcontractor selections.
Data Management
Maintain up-to-date estimating databases and cost history records.
Track material prices and labor costs to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.
Assist in the development and implementation of standardized estimating procedures.
Collaboration and Communication
Serve as a liaison between clients, project managers, and subcontractors to address questions and clarify estimates.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and presentations to communicate project scopes and requirements.
Provide ongoing support to project teams during the construction phase regarding cost-related issues.
What you will need to have:
Education
Highschool Diploma/GED
Relevant Experience
3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the field construction projects
Other
Technical skills: Proficiency in estimating software ( e.g.,Sage, ProEst) and Microsoft Office Suite, Particularly Excel.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
