This role will help to transform the way in which Freddie Mac does business. The Product Owner Senior develops and drives the product vision and strategy as one of the closest people in the business to the customer, providing constant feedback to the team and helping to set and drive toward the vision for Multifamily (MF) data modernization.

Specifically, this will support the product management of the MF Data Program’s delivery execution. These capabilities are critical to driving Data Modernization and adoption of the Enterprise Business Model within the Multifamily division.

Your Impact:

Set ambitious and clear product vision and communicate ‘the story’ effectively to key stakeholders and the rest of the team

Own the end-to-end product strategy from inception and determine business value once solution enters production

Ensure alignment of product features and stories, i.e., review, give feedback, and prioritize user stories in line with the Data Product Roadmap

Continuously improve backlog with the team, ensuring all items are clearly described, estimated, and prioritized

Ensure customer-driven design considering user pain points & usability test results, using market & industry knowledge as well as continual research, to deliver a well-positioned data product

Approve each feature and provide valuable feedback for the team

Drive sprint and release plans together with the Scrum Coach and organizational technology teams

Exercise strong decision-making mandate from executive group to own data products end-to-end

Work with Development Lead to build a modular & reusable solution

Facilitate the collaboration of cross-organizational teams to establish, develop, implement and rollout new data capabilities aligned with Data Modernization and Enterprise Business Model objectives.

Clearly communicate value and status to various stakeholders and levels of management.

Participates or leads activities that support system development & deployment (e.g. process redesign, Day 1 setup, risk & controls documentation, user acceptance testing).

Proficient in documenting risk & controls (e.g. policies, procedures, process flows, risk and control matrices).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related discipline - preferred.

Understanding of the mortgage industry, preferably commercial or multifamily real estate and their underlying loan lifecycles.

5+ years of Agile Delivery or Product Owner experience.

5+ years of data related experience such as product analysis, data analysis, and systems analysis.

Experience delivering large, complex change management projects that involve interfacing with multiple teams, especially projects involving changes to business applications and technology.

Demonstrated ability to understand data modernization principles and deliver on commitments.

Data analysis skills to support data mapping, data querying, and data profiling.

Experience working in an Agile methodology team and agile related tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving thought processes.

Superior written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present to management and expertly facilitate meetings.

Data technology platforms experience: AWS, Mongo DB, Snowflake, Tableau - nice to have.

Experience with Data focused technologies such as relational, non-relational, on-premises, and off-premises databases and their associated concepts.

Keys to Success in this Role:

Ability to leverage product facing soft-skills and technical data analysis hard skills simultaneously and regularly.

Understanding the priorities of Data Modernization and Enterprise Business Model and their operational processes to identify, design, and define solutions that can be effectively implemented to deliver value across the technology organization.

Understanding the modernization strategy and apply it to the prioritization of the product backlog.

Leveraging data & analytics to identify the value of proposed ideas and approach for implementing.

Representing the Multifamily Data team as the principal contact as a subject matter expert and product leader in the Enterprise Business Model and Data Modernization efforts.

Interact with data customers and internal technology customers to obtain feedback on solutions and design to validate and refine value, or pivot to something new.

Highly motivated, adaptive, persistent, and self-driven.

Ability to work independently and confidently as well as across multiple teams and disciplines.

High level of comfort operating in the gray, and flexibility to work on multiple, concurrent assignments.

Demonstrated ability in strategizing and applying decisions.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $122,000 - $184,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
