Objective of the Position:

To assist the Research Scientist in the smooth implementation of CTI/Tropical Screening for early phase compounds and in handling all data and updates related to screening operations.

Main Areas of Responsibilities:

Assist in conducting CTI Screen assays for early phase insecticide compounds and/or Special Assays involving more advanced chemistries in the laboratory.

Assist in handling CTI Screen results generated from the screening laboratory. Making sure that all data are accurately encoded in LabBooQ, and available for timely reporting to the central Agro Data Warehouse/DANTE.

Develop new and efficient screening methodology that would improve the current screening platform together with the Screening Team.

Coordinate with the Insect and Plant Propagation (IPP) Team to ensure that sufficient and steady supply of test plants or plant materials and test species are always available when needed.

Coordinate with the Functions Team (Farm Operations, Samples & Logistics and Admin) for any supplies, services, tasks and manpower assistance required for the conduct of all CTI-related activities.

Ensure that monthly reports and other CTI Screen files are always updated and submitted to the line manager based on the agreed timeline or as needed.

Aid in the maintenance of good housekeeping of the designated work areas both in the office and IR Treatment Wing ensuring orderliness and safety in the workplace.

Ensure compliance and support to all the requirements and programs related to BASF EHS/RCMS.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Agriculture graduate preferably major in Entomology; passed the Agriculturist Licensure Examination.

With 1-2 years work experience related to the position. New graduate may qualify.

Knowledgeable in using basic laboratory equipment, e.g. pipette, fume hood, microscope and weighing balance.

Knowledgeable in tropical insect and mite pests and host plants.

With background in conducting laboratory assays on insecticides.

Possess very good analytical and critical thinking skills, high attention to details and innovativeness.

Expresses self well in English both orally and in writing.

Proficient in Windows and MS Office Applications.

Demonstrate high level of energy and maintain stable performance under pressure.

Demonstrates leadership, professionalism, and integrity at work.

Proactive, can work independently and in teams.
