Accounting Clerk – Finance & Bookkeeping

Burgoon Company is seeking a full-time Accounting Clerk to join our growing finance and accounting team in Pittsburg, Texas. This mid-level role is ideal for someone looking to grow in the accounting, finance, or bookkeeping field while contributing to a dynamic and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do:

Enter daily cash receipts, ACH payments, and check deposits into the accounting software with precision

Investigate and resolve accounts receivable (AR) discrepancies and customer payment inquiries

Perform account reconciliations, cleanup, and adjustments for AR and accounts payable (AP)

Execute collections processes, following up on outstanding invoices and overdue balances

Reconcile daily cash, bank deposits, and credit card transactions to maintain accurate financial records

Process vendor invoices and AP payments, ensuring proper documentation and timely disbursement

Conduct AP aging reports, monitor outstanding vendor payments, and maintain vendor relationships

Support the finance team with additional clerical accounting tasks, data entry, and financial reporting

Qualifications – What You Bring:

1–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related administrative support role

Proficient in accounting systems/software and Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, data entry)

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Excellent written and verbal communication for both internal and external interactions

Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment
