Job Description
Process Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing
GEE Group is working with a well-established industrial manufacturer seeking a Process Engineer to join their operations team. This is a high-impact role focused on optimizing complex equipment systems and driving production excellence from the ground up.
What You’ll Do:
· Champion safety and environmental compliance—set the tone and lead by example.
· Coach, train, and guide team members to build a safety-first, quality-driven culture.
· Support the implementation and fine-tuning of new equipment and processes during plant startup.
· Provide hands-on technical support to improve equipment reliability, throughput, and efficiency across Melt Shop and Roaster operations.
· Lead data-driven continuous improvement initiatives using SPC, DOE, and other methodologies.
· Collaborate cross-functionally to reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance quality.
· Analyze risk across systems and equipment, recommending and implementing mitigation strategies.
· Act as backup supervisor for operations when needed.
What We’re Looking For:
· BS in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering required (Extractive Metallurgy preferred), MS or MBA a bonus.
· 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally in heavy or industrial manufacturing.
· Proven track record of applying Lean principles and driving process improvements.
· Proficiency in SPC, DOE, and data analysis tools like Minitab and Thermo-Calc.
· Strong project management instincts: prior supervisory experience is a plus.
· Technically sharp with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
· Fluent in Excel and familiar with project tools like MS Project or Primavera.
· Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards is a plus.
Why It’s Worth Your Time
This is more than a process engineering role. It’s a front-row seat to innovation, with the chance to influence production systems from startup through sustained operations. You’ll be joining a team that values curiosity, collaboration, and continuous growth—without the corporate fluff.
