IronOrbit is seeking a Storage Engineer to oversee and support our storage infrastructure, with a strong focus on NetApp technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and performance of enterprise-grade storage systems to ensure the availability, reliability, and security of data services for both internal operations and client environments.

This role demands hands-on expertise with NetApp storage systems and a collaborative approach to working across IT functions and service delivery teams within a managed services model.

Key Responsibilities

Storage Infrastructure Management:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain NetApp AFF and FAS storage systems.

• Manage multi-protocol SVM environments including CIFS and iSCSI.

• Monitor storage performance and proactively address issues or capacity constraints.

• Support data migration and integration efforts across storage platforms.

• Ensure data protection and high availability through replication, snapshots, and backup strategies.

Operations & Support:

• Provide Tier 2/3 support for storage-related incidents and service requests.

• Collaborate with virtualization, networking, and backup teams to ensure seamless storage integration.

• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to storage alerts and outages as required.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain up-to-date documentation for all storage configurations, topologies, and procedures.

• Adhere to change management protocols for system updates and configuration changes.

• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.

Optimization & Continuous Improvement:

• Continuously assess and improve storage performance, redundancy, and recovery capabilities.

• Recommend storage technologies or process improvements aligned with business needs.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Must Have:

• Proficiency with NetApp AFF and FAS systems

• Experience with multi-protocol SVM, CIFS, and iSCSI

Preferred:

• Experience with Dell/EMC storage arrays

• Familiarity with Veeam backup and replication

• Working knowledge of VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms

• Background in Managed Services environments
