Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Cybersecurity Architect/Enterprise Security Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of secure cloud and on-premises architectures for a key Air Force program. This role requires deep technical knowledge, hands-on engineering expertise, and strategic thinking to ensure cybersecurity is integrated across infrastructure, applications, and operations.
You will collaborate across internal teams and stakeholders to drive secure system design, manage cyber risk, and ensure compliance with federal standards and mission requirements. Ideal candidates will bring a balance of enterprise security design, risk assessment, cloud security engineering, and regulatory compliance experience (e.g., NIST 800-53/171).

Key Responsibilities:
Secure Architecture Design: Leads the design and implementation of secure IT systems in cloud (AWS/Azure), hybrid, and on-prem environments
Security Integration: Embed controls such as IAM, encryption, SDLC security practices, and network defense into systems
Cloud & Network Security: Evaluates and implements tools such as SIEM, UEBA, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and PAM systems
Threat Modeling & Risk Analysis: Identifies vulnerabilities and models threats to guide mitigation and proactive defense strategies
Compliance & Governance: Ensures adherence to NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001, CIS, and other relevant frameworks
Security Documentation: Creates and maintains detailed security architecture diagrams, documentation, and roadmaps
Stakeholder Engagement: Translates business requirements into technical specifications and communicates security posture to stakeholders
Incident Response Support: Aids response teams and contributes to resilience planning and post-incident improvements
Continuous Improvement: Stays ahead of evolving threats and recommends improvements to existing architectures and technologies
Required Qualifications:
Must be a US citizen with an active US Government Security Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or a related field
5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity architecture, engineering, or cloud security
Proficiency with cloud environments (AWS preferred, Azure acceptable)
Experience with cybersecurity on government DOD network environments
Strong knowledge of network security protocols, IAM, data protection, encryption, and compliance standards
Familiarity with secure SDLC, infrastructure-as-code, and DevSecOps practices
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications:
10+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity architecture, engineering, or cloud security
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or equivalent
Certified Information Security Architect (CITA, SABSA, or equivalent)
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or Offensive Security certifications (e.g., OSCP) are a plus
Experience developing and implementing environment-specific information security policy and procedures for government DOD network environments
Leadership and project management experience interacting with DOD teams and technically directing cyber engineers

Salary commensurate based on education and experience
$97,000-$130,000
5-10 years of related experience and a BS, or 3-8 years and a MS, or 0-4 years and a PhD
$120,000-$160,000
10+ years of related experience and a BS, or 8+ years and a MS, or 4+ years and a PhD
