The Dawes Arboretum is actively recruiting a Communications Coordinator to join our Marketing & Communications department. This is a full-time, exempt level position.
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting a broad range of duties related to content and messaging. This role will also assist with executing communication strategies and advancing organizational priorities.
Creative storytelling skills, strong project management, and exceptional communication abilities are just a few of the key skills essential for success in this role.
Some of the specific responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
Develop, create, and edit content for a variety of media, including The Arboretum website, print publications, blogs, e-communications, and advertising.
Develop and maintain a system for prioritizing and managing Arboretum communications workflow.
Implement communication tactics that will broaden The Arboretum’s visibility and reach, as well as deepen the impact of our work.
Contribute to the coordination, design, and implementation of communications to help achieve shared goals of increasing Arboretum visitation, enhancing revenue opportunities, and elevating brand recognition.
Utilize The Arboretum’s email marketing platform to create and design fresh and engaging marketing campaigns.
Analyze website insights and page performance against marketing goals to help inform and optimize strategy.

· Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· One (1) year of demonstrated experience in a marketing or communications role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, editing, grammar, and proofreading).
· Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to analyze data.
· Excellent organization and project planning skills, with the ability to work under pressure, balance competing priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.
· Previous experience with Constant Contact or other website management platforms a plus.
· Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed
· Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability.
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

The annual salary range for this position is $45,000-$50,000.
