Description:

We're looking for a detail-oriented, numbers-driven person to join our team in Markle, Indiana, as a Project Estimator. In this role, you'll be responsible for figuring out exactly how much material, like trusses, wall panels, lumber, and sheathing, each construction project needs. Your work will be central to the early planning process, as you'll deliver accurate material estimates that help us cut down on waste and keep costs in check. Responsibilities: • Interpret project blueprints, design drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of work and identify material requirements accurately. • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and calculations to estimate the needed materials for trusses, wall panels, loose lumber, structural beams, and sheathing products precisely. • Clarify any ambiguities by coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure comprehensive and precise estimates. • Utilize software and technology effectively for accurate and efficient estimation processes. • Obtain material cost quotes from suppliers and evaluate them in collaboration with the procurement team. • Maintain a database of historical data on material usage to inform future estimates. • Prepare and submit detailed reports and documentation outlining estimated material quantities and costs clearly. • Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and advancements in building materials and construction methodologies. • Align material estimates with project timelines and budget constraints in close collaboration with the project management team. • Identify opportunities for cost savings through value engineering efforts without compromising quality or project objectives. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. • Proven experience as a Project Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry. • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and the project lifecycle. • Proficiency in estimation software and tools. • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Effective communication and negotiation skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000 yearly
