Job Summary
Cousins Maine Lobster is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and payroll.
Prepare and review regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Manage the general ledger reconciliation process to maintain accurate financial records.
Conduct cash management activities, including cash flow forecasting and monitoring.
Perform account analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Lead financial analysis efforts to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with SOX requirements.
Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation.
Assist other departments with financial reporting they need for their operations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of financial principles.
Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is essential.
Strong Excel skills
Experience with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
Strong skills in general ledger reconciliation and cash management practices.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
Knowledge of accounting for inventory.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
