Fabrication Specialist - Project Management
1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts available.
(Fabrication welding experience required although This is NOT a welding job.)
This is the perfect role for an experienced welder who no longer wants to weld themselves, but would rather lead welding projects while still working in a welding and fabrication environment.
Our client, a leading machining and welding services provider in Downingtown, PA, seeks meticulous and experienced Fabrication Project Setup Specialists. You will manage timelines, materials, and work setup to ensure organized and timely project completion for our skilled machinists and welders.
Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, planning fabrication sequences (cutting, forming, machining, welding, assembly), preparing materials, and ensuring necessary tooling is identified for the production team. You'll also maintain accurate records, perform initial quality checks, proactively problem-solve, and adhere to safety protocols.
Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED (Technical certificate/Associate's preferred).
3-5+ years in metal fabrication with a strong understanding of machining and welding processes (MIG, TIG required).
Essential: Direct, hands-on welding experience in a professional fabrication setting.
Demonstrable experience in project setup, production planning, or as a lead fabricator/welder with setup responsibilities.
Expert blueprint reading skills (including weld symbols and GD&T).
Strong knowledge of various metals and fabrication equipment.
Proficiency with measuring tools and strong mathematical skills.
Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a 1 team.
Commitment to safety and good housekeeping.
Preferred: CNC programming/setup experience, forklift certification, welding certifications, familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
