SR PUMP MECHANIC

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced pump repair mechanic to join our team in Spring, TX. In this position, you will be working on centrifugal, positive displacement and submersible pumps in a shop environment. Need 7-10 years’ experience on API pumps (multistage and vertical turbine) and can diagnose faults and document “as found” & “as built” conditions. Must be able to develop a repair workscope on all assigned jobs.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED EXPERIENCE WORKING ON HIGH PRESSURE (HORIZONTAL MULTISTAGE) AND VERTICAL TURBINES BETWEEN 7-10 YEARS YOUR RESUME WILL BE REJECTED. PLEASE PROVIDE REFERENCES FOR THIS EXPERIENCE.

Schedule: 6:30 – 3:00 M-F with Saturday and overtime work as needed.

Responsibilities:

· Maintain high personal standards of job performance

· Able to recognize pump repair issues and use expertise and knowledge to reach effective solutions

· Document repair jobs using inspection tools, gauges, micrometers, indicators, etc.

· Able to develop detailed repair job workscopes with pictures, dimensional data and dispositioning of all. THIS IS A MUST HAVE SKILL

· Works well with minimal to little supervision. No instructions required for routine work.

· Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment

· Maintains a safe and clean workstation

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

Essential Skills:

· Skilled use of measuring tools (micrometers, bore gauges, veneer calipers and dial indicators)

· Shaft alignment using Laser alignment systems

· DCI on Vertical Turbine, Overhung, Single and Multi-Stage between bearing pumps (BB1-BB4)

· Clear and detailed on inspection reports and findings

· Impeller balancing experience

· Requires solid math skills

· Ability to work in a Pump Shop environment

· Requires lifting parts, tools, and fixtures weighing up to 50 pounds

· Requires ability to read and comprehend engineering and shop drawings and blueprints

Education and/or Experience:

· 7-10 years related experience as a multistage pump shop mechanic

· High school degree or equivalent

· Manual lathe experience is a plus

· Excellent coordination and mechanical skills

· Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety

· Solid written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to lift to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasksCompany Description
