Position: UX Researcher
Duration: 7+ months – Possible Extension
Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid)
Pay Range: $70-$80/hr on W2 (As per experience)

Project Overview:
The Play Games team is dedicated to delivering the best gaming experiences to billions of users globally. We are embarking on an ambitious multi-year plan to drive significant growth in the multi-billion-dollar Play business by expanding our multiplatform experiences, game stores, loyalty programs, and various features focused on gamer engagement.
Overall Responsibilities:
As the Play Games researcher, you would work closely with the product team and other Play researchers to define, conduct and lead consumer facing product research. You will be responsible for running interviews, usability testing, and concept studies to inform upcoming product and features for Play, such as Play Points, Play Pass and other unreleased features.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
Design and conduct independent research using a variety of qualitative research methods, including but not limited to: interviews, surveys, diary studies, etc.
Collaborate cross-functionally (design, engineering, and product management) and cross-team to ensure teams make user-centric, data-driven decisions
Deliver high quality research plans and reports that are easily digestible and framed around insights
Independently prioritize work while managing stakeholder relationships and expectations across a range of work streams on a range of trajectories and velocities.
Advocate research findings and insights to diverse audiences through written reports and verbal presentations.
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
Experience with research design utilizing various methods (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.).
Experience collaborating with Engineers, Content Strategists, and Product Managers throughout the UX process.
Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:
Prior experience in consumer facing products.
A graduate degree in Human-Centered Design/HCI, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Computer Science, or other field emphasizing human behavior, research or related program
3+ years of work experience in an applied research setting
Ability to independently scope, execute, analyze, synthesize both qualitative and large-scale quantitative studies.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, including experience working with cross-functional teams.
Prior experience in games related research is a bonus
