Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President leading five manufacturing plants, The Director of Operations prioritizes safety, quality, operational excellence, and efficiency while delivering a winning customer experience.
The Director of Operations serves as the strategic leader of the business. Through collaborative leadership, the selected leader will lead operational improvements, capital projects, drive growth and increase profitability for her/his facilities. This leader will also be expected to enhance the culture and role model the values the Company aspires to, Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships and Teamwork.
The Director of Operations is a key member of the Operations Senior Leadership Team who contributes strategically to the overall business objectives while leading the manufacturing function. This is a collaborative role that works with stakeholders across the organization, key customers, and suppliers.
Job Functions:

Maintaining a strategic drive towards safety excellence, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and reliability.
Drive quality and the intentional development and coaching of operations leaders in each of the manufacturing plants
Key member of Americas Manufacturing Leadership team.
Responsible for the performance of five manufacturing plants (Plant Managers are direct reports) and approximately 1,200 employees in salary professional, hourly technical, and production roles.
Must provide hands-on leadership in operational excellence, engineering, and maintenance functions
Designs and executes divisional manufacturing capital investment program
Participates in the development of annual budgets and plan management
Contributes to America’s Long Range Planning (LRP)
Encourage employee engagement, talent development and mentoring, and workforce planning and participates in those activities as an executive sponsor and coach
Acts as a representative of the company in the communities in which we operate and beyond

Develop and implement a standardized approach to production systems/ lean implementation across the five facilities
Bring outside-in best practices around manufacturing excellence, equipment, and reliability solutions
Develop and implement a division-wide manufacturing process automation program
Improve manufacturing performance across key metrics
Bring manufacturing leaders together as an integrated team aligned around shared goals linked with overall divisional vision, mission and priorities
Improve overall engagement and manufacturing employee retention to support growth

Required Experience
Education/Knowledge:
Bachelors degree (B.S.), from four-year College, or university in business, engineering or other related discipline (or a combination of experience and education)
Prior experience leading manufacturing sites, managing manufacturing processes, production planning, strategic planning, and dealing with complexity in manufacturing.
Prior experience implementing LEAN manufacturing, production systems and quality control processes.
Demonstrated financial acumen, analytical and budgeting skills
Excellent problem solving, and reasoning skills required
Excellent interpersonal skills required, including coaching, team-building and training skills
Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the company; plant floor to executive leadership
Strong attention to detail and communication skills, both verbal and written
Solid computer skills required
Ability to utilize technology to enhance the growth/performance of the organization
Proven leader able to quickly build rapport and credibility with staff to communicate vision and obtain buy-in in the pursuit of business objectives
