Salary: $180,000–$200,000 + Bonus (Based on experience, education, and skills)

About the Role:

A dynamic and growing manufacturer in the Birmingham area is seeking an experienced and hands-on Vice President of Operations. This senior leadership role reports directly to the General Manager and collaborates closely with key departments including Sales, Engineering, Finance, HR, Maintenance, Quality, and Continuous Improvement.

You will lead a team of 150+ manufacturing employees and be responsible for driving strategic and tactical operational excellence throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations across all phases of production.

Direct department managers in executing manufacturing strategies aligned with corporate sales forecasts.

Supervise supply chain and warehouse operations, offering guidance and oversight to management staff.

Develop and manage plant manufacturing and travel & expense budgets.

Lead the evaluation and acquisition of new capital equipment.

Analyze delivery and inventory issues and implement effective solutions.

Optimize workflow and production efficiency to meet demand in a cost-effective manner.

Manage staffing levels, including interviewing, hiring, and training in accordance with company processes.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

Minimum 15 years of business experience, with at least 8 years in a senior manufacturing leadership role.

Strong knowledge of operational best practices and continuous improvement methodologies (JIT experience a plus).

Background in sheet metal manufacturing strongly preferred.

Strategic thinker with a tactical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on leadership style.
